Weatherization is a permanent solution to high energy prices. Energy conservation no longer means turning down the thermostat and putting on a sweater, it now means making the energy we use more efficient.

Pennsylvania’s Weatherization Assistance Program increases energy efficiency in homes by reducing energy costs and increasing comfort while safeguarding health and safety.  On site energy audits are conducted to assess conditions in homes and to identify the most cost-effective energy saving measures to be installed.

Program Mission The Weatherization Assistance Program aims to reduce the energy costs of low income families (at or below 200% of the federal poverty level), with priority given to higher risk residents such as the elderly, disabled individuals, families with children and high energy users. Funding for the program comes from the Federal Government through the Department of Energy, Office of Building Technology, State and Community Programs and the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Block Grant. Throughout PA the Weatherization Program is administered by the PA Department of Community & Economic Development.
